Bertrand Barthel is a Conducting Officer within MPE Manager Lux S.à r.l., the Luxembourg authorized AIFM of Montagu Private Equity. He is responsible for Risk Management & Compliance and is also the Responsable du Contrôle (RC) of the AIFM.

He has over 14 years’ experience in the Luxembourg fund industry. Bertrand started his career in the fund administration environment and shifted to Conducting Officer roles in 2014. Since then, he has hands-on experience in various environments, especially from the governance standpoint.

Bertrand has been working in the compliance (including anti-money laundering) and risk management areas for Investment Fund Managers from various horizons. These structures were part of large international groups as well as smaller sized companies.

Having been involved in the set-up and substance development of most of the above-mentioned IFMs, Bertrand has a deep understanding of the governance related matters, notably in challenging environments (i.e. non-European entities with different governance mindsets).

Bertrand is a graduate of Sciences Pô Strasbourg. He speaks fluent French, German and English.
