Barbara Backx is Vice President and head of the legal / corporate secretarial department of the Luxembourg office of HPS Investment Partners, LLC, a leading global investment firm with over USD 1 billion AUM, that seeks to provide creative capital solutions and generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for its client investors. Barbara and her team are responsible for the management and legal good standing of over 180 Luxembourg HPS entities, which are part of HPS' numerous investment structures.

Previously, she was working as a Corporate Manager at one of the leading international corporate service providers in Luxembourg where she was leading a team responsible for over 200 Luxembourg entities and where she was holding mandates in multiple boards of managers of companies with diverse objects. Before coming to Luxembourg, Barbara was working as a lawyer specialized in municipal taxes in the Netherlands.
Barbara holds an LL.M. in Dutch law from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. She speaks fluent English, Dutch and French and has basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
